Audit Associate (US Standards)

About the Role

Vance & Cole is building the premier offshore audit support practice for US CPA firms. As an Audit Associate, you will execute critical fieldwork components under the supervision of US-based engagement managers. You will work on a diverse portfolio of audits - from nonprofit organizations to mid-market companies - applying US GAAS and PCAOB standards from our secure Cebu IT Park facility. This role is ideal for detail-oriented professionals who want to build deep expertise in US audit methodology without leaving the Philippines.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute substantive audit procedures including vouching, tracing, confirmations, and analytical review for US CPA firm clients.
• Prepare and organize audit workpapers in compliance with US GAAS, GAAP, and firm-specific templates (CaseWare, Engagement, or ProSystem fx).
• Perform walkthroughs of client internal controls and document findings for COSO/ICFR assessments.
• Reconcile trial balances, prepare lead schedules, and tie financial statement line items to supporting documentation.
• Communicate audit queries and status updates to US-based engagement managers via secure channels during US shift hours.
• Support year-end audit procedures including inventory observations (remote), bank confirmations, and subsequent events testing.

Minimum Qualifications

• 2+ years of audit experience, preferably with exposure to US GAAS or IFRS-based engagements.
• CPA (Philippines) or passed CPA board exam; pursuing US CPA is a strong plus.
• Working knowledge of audit software: CaseWare, ProSystem fx Engagement, or CCH Axcess.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP, particularly ASC 606 (Revenue), ASC 842 (Leases), and ASC 326 (Credit Losses).
• Advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and data analysis for large ledgers.
• Willingness to work US shift hours (typically 8PM-5AM PHT) from our biometrically secured Cebu IT Park facility.
