Bookkeeping Supervisor

About the Role

Vance & Cole is seeking an experienced Bookkeeping Supervisor to lead a pod of 4-6 junior and mid-level bookkeepers at our Cebu IT Park operations center. You will be the quality gatekeeper - reviewing reconciliations, enforcing SLA deadlines, training new team members, and serving as the primary escalation point for complex client transactions. This supervisory role bridges operations and client success, making it ideal for seasoned bookkeepers ready to step into leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a pod of 4-6 bookkeepers, conducting daily stand-ups, weekly 1-on-1s, and quarterly performance reviews.
• Review and approve all client deliverables for accuracy before submission - bank reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close packages, and financial statements.
• Enforce SLA compliance: 99.5%+ accuracy rate and on-time delivery for all assigned CPA firm clients.
• Handle escalated transactions: complex accruals, intercompany eliminations, payroll journal entries, and multi-entity consolidations.
• Train new hires on firm-specific workflows, QBO/Xero/NetSuite configurations, and Vance & Cole quality standards.
• Coordinate with US-based Client Success Managers on scope changes, timeline adjustments, and performance reporting.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of bookkeeping experience with at least 1 year in a supervisory or team lead role.
• Expert proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Xero, and ideally NetSuite or Sage Intacct.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP for SMB-level financial reporting and month-end close procedures.
• Proven ability to manage, motivate, and develop junior accounting staff.
• Exceptional attention to detail - you catch errors others miss.
• Available for US shift hours from our secure Cebu IT Park facility. PH CPA license or equivalent certification preferred.
